Game Rules

Game rules

The following points apply to all game worlds.
If you think you have been blocked or banned unfairly, please contact the responsible Game Operator via the ticket system.

Please note that complaints and requests to do with the particulars of an account's data privacy can only be dealt via the owner of the account.

1. Accounts

These rules will explain certain points in the following areas:



[*] Registered Accounts [*] Player Accounts
Players may only have one account per world (except during holiday replacement).
With one registration, a player can play in all game worlds. A player is not limited to one registration but may only have one account per world.


1.1 Account Access

The account holder is the only person allowed access to the account. Should another person log on to this account, it will be considered as either account sharing, or multi accounts, should the unauthorised player also have an account in the same world. The only exception to this rule occurs during holiday replacement mode.

1.2 Password

The password is bound to the account. Players are forbidden to divulge their passwords to others. Should an unauthorised person log on to an account, this will be considered account sharing.

1.3 Account transfer

Should a player cede his account to another player, the original account holder must inform Support. If Support is not informed and inconsistencies occur, the account may be blocked.


2. Shared internet connections

The game offers a "Share Internet Connection" function which can be found in Profile under "Share Internet Connection".This function must be activated by all players who knowingly share a network or a computer with one or more other players in the same world. Shared networks are common for example in schools, universities, or workplaces.

Some actions will be restricted during network sharing and for 24 hours thereafter. These include:
Group attacks, ressource deliveries, support to and attacks on players in the same network. Any and all interaction between players in a shared network is absolutely forbidden.

In order to avoid any unnecessary blocking, please inform the Support before playing in an unknown network.
Any misuse of the "Shared Internet Connection" function and any infringement of its rules may lead to a temporarily or permanently ban.


Examples

- Any advantage gained from other accounts in the same network, or which were in the same network less than 24 hours ago, is not allowed.
- Once the "Shared internet connection" function has been activated, it is no longer permissible to attack a common target.
- It is permissible to support a third player with troops, as long as that player is not in the same network.
- It is not permissible to create a third account in order to send resources from one account to another when the two accounts share a network.
- It is permissible to send messages and reports to players in your network.



3. Holiday replacement

All the examples listed above in "Shared internet connection" also apply to holiday replacement.
Holiday replacement is a premium feature. It allows a player to sit the account of another player in accordance to the following rules:

The sitter's account and the account in holiday replacment mode are played from the same IP address, and are therefore subject to IP sharing rules. Once an account is in holiday replacement mode, any interaction between the sitter's two accounts including attacks, support, trade, and concerted attacks are strictly forbidden.

The only acceptable way to have someone sit your account is via the holiday replacement mode. The sharing of passwords is absolutely not allowed (see rule 2).

Any concerted action is forbidden for 24 hours after holiday replacement mode has ended. Should the game team discover an account which is in violation of these rules, all accounts involved will be blocked.

Holiday replacement lasts for a minimum of 2 days and a maximum of 3 weeks. There must be a two week period between holiday replacements. Should you require holiday replacement during one of these two-week periods, please contact the responsible Game Operator via the ticket system.

Account sitters who deliberately sabotage the account entrusted to them will be blocked if it is impossible to restore the account.


Examples

- The account sitter is allowed to attack or conquer other players with the holiday replacement account.
- The account sitter is not allowed to attack a player with both his own account and the holiday replacement account for the entire duration of the holiday replacement. Concerted attacks can only occur 24 hours after holiday replacement mode has ended.
- It is also not permissible to send support from one account to another.



4. Bashing

This rule does not apply in this country. Settlements can be attacked as often as the attacker deems necessary.



5. Pushing

It is not permissible to set up an account for the sole and unique purpose of giving another or other accounts an unfair advantage in the form of ressources or troops. These accounts will be considered as multi accounts and blocked accordingly. Should a player illegally send ressources to another account, please contact the Game Operator via the ticket system immediately.

It is also not permissible for a player to take over the settlement(s) of another player only to gratuitously hand it over to a third player, unless said third player has significantly fewer points.


Examples


- It is not permissible to create an account for the sole and unique purpose of sending resources to other players.
- It is not permissible to activate the holiday replacement function when the account holder no longer plays in order to use the holiday replacement account to send resources to other players.
- All players should notify the game support of any unexpected resource deliveries. Should a player not notify the game support, the accounts involved may be blocked.
- It is not permissible to receive resources from a player with less points.


6. Bug using

A bug is an in-game error which could create unfair advantages for certain players. It is not permissible to take advantage of these bugs. Should you be the victim of a bug, it is imperative that you notify a Game Operator.

Should you lose ressources, troops, or other such in-game assets due to a bug, these will not be restored to you.

Once a game account has been damaged by a bug, or because it was blocked, it is not possible to return said account to its previous state.


7. Bots and scripts

Please obey the Terms and Conditions:
5. Special terms and conditions for the use of online games and all subsections from 5.1 to 5.7.

There are certain tools which are allowed. A list of permissible scripts can be found on the forum.

Should you be unsure whether a tool which you have is permissible or not, please contact Support and send them the script.
If you would like to write a script, please ask Game Support if your script is permissible before uploading it.



8. Content

Insults, abuse, and all offensive messages are forbidden and anyone sending such messages will be punished.
Threats are only permissible if they relate exclusively to the game and have absolutely no connection to any other platform or to the private life of any players. Political, racial, pornographic or other illegal expression is not allowed on any KingsAge-related platform.

Gameforge reserves the right to block any player who does not understand or cannot express himself in the language of the domain in which he plays.
This applies as much to the game as it does to the official forum and the IRC channel.

These rules also apply to:
In-game messages, alliance pages and circular mail.
Please bear in mind that any misbehaviour in the game, on the forum, or on IRC can result in the temporary or permanent blocking of your account.
It is absolutely forbidden to spread immoral content in order to insult the integrity of a player or person. In-game moral boundaries are preserved and defended by the game team. Certain content may be censored, and the corresponding accounts temporarily or permanently blocked.

This rule also applies to In-game messages, profiles, nicknames, settlement names, alliance pages and circular mails.


Examples


- It is permissible to extort resources from other players as long as a game operator is consulted and has approved.
- It is forbidden to extort "crowns" or other cash items which are not offered for free in KingsAge.
- Insults or other objectionable messages are not allowed.
- Any and all attempts to discover another player's password, also known as phishing, is forbidden, and all players attempting it shall be blocked.
- The diffusion of political, racist, or pornographic material is not allowed. This applies for example to the player and alliance profiles, but also to the nicknames and names of settlements.
- Links to "warez" or to pornographic websites are forbidden.
- Players who insult others in the forum or on the IRC chat may also be blocked from the game.



9. Spam

Any attempt to impede a player's view which prevents said player from normal play is not permitted.

This also applies to:


[*] Spam via messages (IGM) [*] Diffusion of other games not belonging to the Gameforge group, or containing any illegal content.

10. Account transfers

Should a player make his or her settlement available to another player without putting up any défense, the following rules will apply:


[*] Only the account holder can transfer his or her settlement to another player. [*]Players who have been entrusted with an account for the sake of holiday replacement may not transfer this account to another player. [*]Should a player announce his or her departure, he or she is not allowed to ask another player for holiday replacement so that said player can take over the settlement. [*]Should a player decide to give up his or her account whilst in holiday replacement mode, the player sitting the account is not allowed to continue to play on this account, nor can he or she transfer its settlement(s) to another player.

These accounts will be considered as multi accounts and blocked accordingly. ~clear too~
Should a player illegally send resources to another account, please contact the Game Operator via the ticket system immediately.
~If it comes to your attention any exchange of raw materials that is not legal or if someone is sending you raw materials, helping you out of nowhere, send a ticket asap!~

It is also not permissible for a player to take over the settlement(s) of another player only to gratuitously hand it over to a third player, unless said third player has significantly fewer points.
How that is enforced here is that you cannot gift a settlement to another player unless that player is half your size or smaller. If you need to trade a settlement for strategic reasons or give a settlement away to correct a counting error then please inform support.

There is some confusion because point 10 says only the original account owner can give away a settlement. The two points do not contradict each other. The conditions in 5 (the person must be significantly smaller) must be met.

- It is not permissible to activate the holiday replacement function when the account holder no longer plays in order to use the holiday replacement account to send resources to other players. ~I think this is pretty clear too, if the player is not playing there is no need for you to play the account in order togive any advantage to other people or yourself with resources.

- All players should notify the game support of any unexpected resource deliveries. Should a player not notify the game support, the accounts involved may be blocked. ~The same thing that was mentioned above. Be very careful with your resources! The excuse "I didn't know what this was about", "I never saw those arriving" doesn't count anymore!

- It is not permissible to receive resources from a player with less points. ~Sending is permissible BUT for the moment we don't allow more than 3hours of the sender's raw production every 3 days.~
