Alliance Member Limit

I thought i would repost this idea that was originally suggested here:-
http://board.kingsage.org/board17-archiv…e-member-limit/

Should there be a maximum member limit for alliances, either fixed or upgradeable?

I think that more smaller alliances would create more borders and more conflicts between alliances and we would have many small scale wars as opposed to the 1 massive alliance against the other massive alliance that tends to happen across the older worlds. using world 3 as an example ever since the early days there has always been at least 2 massive alliances that have dominated with the majority of the players spread amongst them, whereas they used to boast 200-300 members now they have a little over 50. inevitably these large alliances have many members that are too far from the front line to actively take part and smaller alliances can get isolated from their enemies and surrounded by a large ally or nap. Worlds tend to stagnate and players get bored and leave, this may help keep the excitement going for a little bit longer and keep players in the game.

What do you think?

I agree.
Not just that. Even on newer worlds you can find that the alliance options are very few. It can also be difficult for a new player to get invited into a decent alliance, which in turn makes them more likely to give up early.

My feeling is that a cap of 50, or even 30 would be good.

if you can share forums with other alliances then that would be fine but 30 is too small for some times

i have to say no, i mean if you wanted to make a world with max members i guess you can try it. as far as making it a rule for all worlds or all future worlds then no. gf should not enforce rules like that upon a alliance. it would not matter anyway though, all the alliances (which i cannot directly name) would only make 10 alliances an all work as the same, thus not changing anything.

Yeah games with tight limits on alliance size tend to just create a situation where alliances are spread into ten. I don't see a point. The best alliances tend to be lean and mean anyway so the alliance leaders that care for quality over quantity will impose some limits on their end.

Yes it is inevitable that they will form brother/sister alliances but with different leaders, different forums and most importantly different attack banners they will never be able to react or be as coherent as a single alliance. The BA on world 3 is a perfect example of that - 3 of the biggest alliances in the world pretending to be one but if you attacked one member you would rarely get more than a half-hearted response from a few players of the other 2 alliances.

I have never seen an elite small alliance stay small, they always balloon in size because at the end of the day this is a numbers game. Small alliances get eaten especially early in the game.

There would be more interest in being the top alliance as you wouldn't be able to get there by numbers alone, members would have to be picked carefully and allies more so. I think this change has a lot of scope to improve the game and especially the interest.

If not this then something needs to be done, the 10:1 just doesn't work at all and the number of active players is shockingly small. In the current state it is virtually pointless to join an old world and the beginners world's are made impossible to play because of the permanent 10:1.
