ability for BOE to hide attacks on the alliance banner

I know in Ikariam (another GF game) that's the only way that attacks could be hidden (or used to be, haven't played there since I came here) but it would really be useful for the BOE to be able to hide attacks on the banner so that we could internally count players that have gone red without filling up our attack banner and making it very hard to see where the real attacks from enemies are. :-)

that never really seemed like a problem for me I mean the attack banner is useful an all but not being able to control it is never a massive problem for me and I'm BOE for most of the alliances I'm in but it could help I guess

Would be nice for that purpose, but that would probably get abused by some elders and think it should be left up to individual players to hide their own attacks if they where to want to.

I don't see it as advantageous, to be honest. I think that a decent claims system, including an internal forum thread for reclaims or planned relocates within the alliance, is a better idea than the BoE being able to hide internal attacks.

Either way, I find it gets people messaging the BoE to check what is going on. And that is communication (even if not great communication) which cannot be considered anything except a Good Thing.

The idea of BOE being able to hide them is just to avoid them cluttering the banner. That's helpful if you have a lot of incoming. I like the idea.

Incidentally in Ikariam only the general can see attacks incoming or outgoing other than their own. You CAN see the towns in flames though which is kinda cool. :P

That's why you guys have a premium option( if you have premium) :

"In addition, a lot of new enhancements have been made to the game that will make your life easier. Amongst other features, we have added useful pop-up windows with important infos. You can also rename reports, attacks etc. for a better overview."

So, if you are having false attacks, you can rename them as falls so that others wont give it much attention etc.

So I dont see the need for BoE to be able to hde attacks, when players can rename them, almost as they have the option to hide them :P

well if all players could remove them then it would probably be used to attack own members then delete it if they were spies anyway but if only the elder could do it then it should help slightly I guess becuase if it's to do with farming someone inactive it could get in the way but putting them as falls won't take them away so removing them isn't a bad idea

or better idea, make it so we can have groups and not just boe and normal forums access but can add different members to different parts of the forum, for opps and sections, this is so it doesnt get clutered and will help with tracking spies

that's a good idea I don't know why I didn't suggest it myself

different people should be allowed to go on different forums and also forums for everyone

exept then just boe's and other important people

not just hidden forums but like boe's forums leaders forums diplomats forums forum moderators forums and so on

That would make a lot of demands on the servers I think and is probably more complex than necessary. I must admit I would like the facility to have nested folders though.

If you really have a need for more complex forum set up then an external forum is easy enough to do and highly customisable.

So, let me get this straight. You want the dev team to add a feature that will be complex for them to add, and will likely have repercussions and cause problems elsewhere, because its easier for you?
I'm guessing you'll then complain about the problems it causes elsewhere.

d00d, you can't have it both ways

this is a forum for suggestions and so far it seems like several people like the idea. We are NOT demanding that KA add anything and so far I have yet to complain about anything they've broken other than posting bugs in a helpful manner or opening a ticket in the case that the bug really doesn't need to be made public.

and I like Theseus's idea of separate banners rather than just hiding attacks. The alliance attack banners are a huge advantage that KA has over other similiar games and expanding that can only help.

I meant the idea of the separate forums. The idea of the separate flags, I have no problem with

same it helps and doesn't really make anything worse

I don't see why not

actually I don't think he meant separate forums. When we create external forums the administrators have the ability to create multiple groups with different permissions, so I could create one only for specific players and make sure that spies wouldn't have access to it. nested forums are also a very handy feature so that you can have a single claims forum and then a forum for each K underneath there to try and keep the forums clean.

Since instant messangers are in use now forums are kinds old school. I use imo.im - it supports something like 8 most common messangers at the same time it is weight and you can use it from your browser without downloading skype, yahoo and ect. When i was leader of alliance i have divided them into small groups of 4-5 that is far more usefull when you have so big alliances. It is better especially here not to have a lot of members in our alliance because you can not trace the attacks so easily .

we use skype and it's great, but if someone is offline then it does no good since we can't get in touch with them. And that still won't solve the problem of internal counting cloggin up the attack banner.

lol first of all i cant believe how many mistakes i am making when i am posting early in the morning. It is kinda instead of kinds and light-weight instead of weight. AND as i have written imo.im is platform that supports various protocols of different messengers - in short you need just your id and pass to login in 5-6 messengers at the same time, without having them installed on your desktop, but any browser.
Second SKYPE, that is really a bit too old. I remember the time when i was chasing lasses in the alliance chat rooms when i was young and green. We use sms- there are sites with functionality of sending free sms. So when someone is under attack he is texted - enough said.

Cheers House

it would probably have to be another attack banner, elders would abuse it an hide real attacks for various reasons. rather it be they think they know a attack is a fake when its real, or they would be making deals in the dark an hiding it from another alliance.
