New Unit- Warleader

After popping it in the general discussion board and getting some positive comments thought I'd pop it in here.

A new unit called a Commander or warleader.
Unit would have next to no Combat ability by itself, but would act as a moving memorial to all intents and purposes.
Limited to 1 per player so as not to ruin the balance of the game.
Very expensive (maybe in the region of 700,000 of each resource).
Would increase Combat effectiveness by 10% of any army it was with, in attack or defence. Would also have to be unstackable (benefit can only be obtained once for each army/settlement).
large settler count (300-400?)

Would be a good tactical piece to use on the front lines by alliances later on in the game to boost defence, or aid in attack nukes.

If anyone has any suggestions as to how this idea could be improved, please post. Would love to develop this idea further.

if it costs so much why would you want to get it since it only boosts it by 10 percent

if it costed less or did about 20% and what will happen when both settlements have one

you should to be able to upgrade it or make it make your troop times faster that might be better and more worth the buy or even be able to research stuff for it

I have no problems with the price - I do agree though that it should significantly boost effectiveness. At least 25% is a good mark, I would think. I'd also think that if a sett has one and the attacking army also has one, the advantages that would be gained are eliminated, even if though the unit survives.

And just as another idea, eliminates night bonus effect.

That's a great idea fox! that would really make things tough for people who like to sleep :) Thanks for commenting everyone, and these Ideas are great. Hopefully we'll get a few more answers then I'll re draught it taking your comments into account.
I's suggest that the proposed unit would be more biased towards the defender, as it raises the effectiveness of the whole army it's attached to, and with support in a settlement you can get more troops overall than any single attack. If the forces were of equalish value, then it would cancel out any gains technically

I bet you 1 sett that this will never be introduced! But I agree its a nice idea. Im against the eliminates night bonus effect, I know that I will survive in the day and at night I can sleep safely knowing if someone sends an attack I'll live.

If night bonus were to be removed for some users it wouldnt be very good.

it's not all that likely, as it would be a very complicated piece of coding to introduce i suspect, but the more discussion we have here, and the more support and development of the idea the more likely it becomes as only the top threads will be forwarded to the DEV team.

Usually a that kind of unit is called hero and the bonus depends of the hero experience - so really boring.
About the coding it is to add one line to battle algorithm If(hero is here) deffensive point array * 11/10. And if they want really to optimize it they should keep the coordinates of the hero not to make another column at unit table for every villiage.

I have been in top 20 BO in attacks and defence in 3 worlds here, dare to face me ?

good idea but what about defense?

is it good defensively

does it have more of a chance to die

if this unit is made I wanna know all about it

like attack bonus

survival bonus

defensive bonus

battering ram bonus

troop running times speed up bonus

stolen resources bonus

conquering bonus (like you're able to make their realm of power even lower)

defense from conquering bonus (make your realm of power harder to take down)

luck bonus (luck from attackers point of view/defenders point of view)is there luck from defenders point of wiew?

which one of these does it do all of them none of them
